Our Home on the Road |

Updated: 6/18/08 - This is our home while we're on the road. It's a 2003 39' Teton Experience with 3 slide outs. It has everything we need for comfortable living including a separate Kenmore Washer and Dryer. We love putting a new view in our big back window every once in awhile. From Florida, our home base, we have been up and down the East Coast four times and are now currently on a full year RV trip that started in Key West, Florida on April 13th, 2007. Our trip continued up the East Coast to Bar Harbor, Maine, where we spent the 2007 summer. In the fall we headed West to Minnesota and then on down to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the Balloon Fiesta.
We spent the 07/08 winter in Santa Fe, New Mexico at nearly 7,000 feet elevation in temperatures which dipped as low as 0°, 3°, and 5° Fahrenheit several times. Many nights we experienced 10° to 15°. We did just fine. Even though our Teton is equipped with two 31,000 BTU furnaces, we only used one of them. Our Teton, which was manufacture red in Casper, Wyoming, is designed for cold weather. Our Teton includes an Artic Package which includes thermostatic controlled heat pads on our fresh water and holding tanks as well as a completely insulated underbelly including foam insulation on all plumbing. We did not have to add any additional skirting or insulation during the winter. We can truly attest that our Teton is equipped to live comfortably in just about anything a US winter can dish out.
It is now over one year later. We have just completed a week's stay in Breckenridge, Colorado, elevation 9,300 feet. It snowed over 8 inches here last Thursday. We have learned a lot and seen a lot of wonderful places both on the East coast from Florida to Maine and now out West in the Rocky Mountains.
We left Santa Fe on April 1st, 2008 and headed West through northern Arizona, Southern California, Nevada, Utah and then east up through Vail Pass in Colorado to Breckenridge. After a wonderful week in Breckenridge, we headed East through the Eisenhower Tunnel and over the continental divide and down to Denver. Our Dodge Dually pulled our 5th Wheel up the mountain and into the tunnel at not less than 45 mph without a problem. We spent a week in Denver and then headed on to Kansas City, St. Louis, Nashville, Atlanta and finally to Englewood, Florida where we have started remodeling an old house which will be our winter home.
Our 2003 Teton is currently for sale and can be currently seen in Englewood, Florida. We love our Teton. It has served us very well over the last 5 years but we are now are heavily into our home remodeling project in Englewood and have decided to offer our Teton to another family who will enjoy it for years to come.
